well I have now seen, in these latter days approaching 2012, that I should make it easy for people to read some of my dreams, visions, and OBE's [out of body astral travels]. Visions of heaven, visions of the end of civilization, even an Alien abduction expereince!
the Yahoo group is Ok, and it has also OTHER people's end time visions on it, plus some of my other writings, but one has to sign in as a yahoo member first, plus some of the files are in formats that might be harder to read.

I had trouble bookmarking my most interesting Flickr Links, so I made this "photo" to place in a Set of its own, so that I could refer to these links, myself; I have now enough that someone else *might* be interested in seeing them too, so here they are, a constant Work-In-Progress, as I add more all of the time. Some "regulars" might not know of all of these!

Because this blog is getting so much traffic from Google searches and referrals from various forums and Wikipedia, we decided to put one post up top to link to information our newest visitors are apparently looking for.

First, if you have not seen the film and want to watch it, be sure to watch Markyx's annotated version, which he very kindly named after this blog, Screw Loose Change. Markyx did a terrific job on this, and we strongly recommend watching this version rather than Dylan Avery's cut.

James has put together a list of major lies in Loose Change. Here's Part 1. Part 2. Part 3. Part 4.

I compiled three very easily refuted lies in the movie. I also showed three tricks and distortions that are used throughout the film.

A friend of the blog named Mark Roberts (aka Gravy at the JREF forums) compiled this amazing Viewer's Guide to Loose Change, (now HTML) which includes a complete transcript of the movie, pictures and links that refute many of the claims, and which highlights the changes between Version 1 and Version 2.

This should be enough to get you started debunking Loose Change to your friends. We have a lot more content below this post.

You are right about this. It has also been my experience to receive the foulest of abuse simply for pointing out something "negative" about Sai Baba that is plain as day for all to see. As far as I have seen, those Sai devotees/admirers who take it upon themselves to defend Sai Baba do not appear to show even a pinch of the love and compassion that Sai devotees are supposedly well-known for. I am offically "neutral". there are people who post here who have had, they day, terrible experiences with baba and they call him a Cultist.
There are others who love baba.

GROWING OLD

About growing old
What is it like to grow old?

Many of "us" are the baby boomers, some of us are now 50 to 60 years old. We are getting ever the Older!

I am 64, myself, and I live in an
Independant Living Apartment Home.
There are several people over 90 years old who live there. Thus I, born in 1941, stand between the Great Depression generation, and the baby bommers of the 1947-1964 era. I can see, and live, in each realm!

This group will have photos
of older people, and anything of their surroundings.

Sometimes just an object, like of an empty shuffleboard court, may invoke a feeling of old aging people and their lives.
--older people over 62.
--things that they own.
--the surroundings that "frame" them, even if there are no people in the photo. [Easy for "permissions" that way!]

Biography
From 1997 - 2003, I was the Director of TransDimensional Systems, which provided information solutions to corporations and individuals using an array of alternative and paranormal services including remote viewing, knosomatics, intuitive counseling, technology transfer, consciousness mapping, physical profiling and other techniques. TransDimensional Systems also did considerable work in the areas of humanitarian and environmental efforts.

Hi everyone!

Here it is, the day before Thanksgiving. I have thought, as I walked over to this Library computer, getting up in the 35 degree cold morning, to walk to the coffee shop, and to walk to here, that I have had this Freestonefiles site, now, for a number of years. I had first started it, back before weblogs had even existed. I never did have a phone, so that I could never have a "real" internet site of my own, the "half full cup" of the disibility pension cannot deal with how phones cost the earth!

I have posted my own dreams and then also have collected some of the writings, from the net, that I really really liked, here, over the years.
---Ya know, the internet today is full of end time prophecies, and most of them have the "due date" to be only in a few years! I do not have a good Feel for most of them, though! I sense that many of them
are riddled with the psychological bias of the Giver! One "standard"
varient that I have seen, is like of this: "New Orleans is a sin filled city, full of homosexuals, and will get the hurricanes that it deserves, as God's punishment for sin-filled behaviors"!
NO!
I do not feel these types of predictions are right!

I, myself, have had to "deal" with an ever present dream theme that was telling me, over the last year or two, ever the more stridently, as time went by, as if I was not really listening, that my own death was immanent!
However, during the last few months, i have had dreams that Angels or Guides have told me that I have now an Extension of time to live, and I will live until the
"very end"!
["very end", as of 2011/12, as that is when this very end is supposed to be, according to my currant, November 2005, dreams!]
Too, I have the dream impression that the "earthchanges" will be in "nickle and dime" amounts, not in some "mass death" of millions of people all at once!
I was told that many of my friends will die before me, but that I will be here until the very end.

Lots of strange weather, political events, and earth actions, but no
real "60% of humanity killed all at once, I see it, for the next 6 to 7 years!
Life will go On, School for souls will continue, school to maximize
the [my] four soul/spirit Truths.
1 Love.
2 Understandings
3 Goodness in everything felt, thought of, or done.
4 creative imaginations, using the three Principles, above; try to think out of the boxes that have existed for all of history.

and...
try to live now on earth as *if* you were already in heaven.
Then when you get there, you will already be "up to speed", for the best heaven experiences.

Thus, this Thanksgiving 2005, I have a lot to be thankful for.
we all do, actually.
Cayce, Nostradamus, et all, could be actually "overwritten" by Grace from Spirit!

I was in the store "Best Buy", the other day. This store specializes in electronics, video games and systems, computers, music, videos. So many choices as to what to watch or do on TV!
Thus, I have come to the Conclusion: that it is as IF most of us have "won the million dollar lottery", and there are now SO many choices, large and small, out there, that we can choose to say "yes" to, that influences our soul growth for eternity.
Thus, if we all "have a problem", I see this problem a bit "Differently" than the Liberal left/fundamentalist christians do, about what is wrong with our society!
I see our problem, collectively, as that the amount of choices and opportunities availible, today, has outstripped our self disipline
capibilities to handle all of the amount of knowledge and power that is now out there for us to use!
"THE MILLIONARE", an old TV program from the 50s, shows this well: where each week this hidden rich business owner gives a million dollars, of 1957 money, to a random picked person, then the show depicts what this person did with the money.
Some people blew it. some used it wisely.
Thus today the bookstores are filled with books, the music cds line the shelves.
But does all of this just lead to 20,000 sex images on your hard drive, or does this Richness lead something "higher"?!

it is *YOUR* choice!!

As if the "final judgement" is being done in advance of our deaths!

the hotter the water, the more sturdy the sides of the cookpot must be!
The more cuurant in the wire, the more thicker the insulation must be, or the currant will short out, and go to the lowest area!

----this is my only "condemation" of this present times:
not enough self awareness of... "touch the new puppy and it becomes yours"! Not enough awareness of, "whatever you say YES to, now becomes your responsibiility for!
---like of that true story of the lady who was offered a free goat and she accepted it:
she had the land for it, but she had to buy the fence and the food and water troughs, etc,etc, plus the food, plust the vet bills, the shots, etc. her free goat cost her $4,000, in the first year alone!

Never enter a contest that if you won the Prize you cannot deal with this prize!

So say "Yes" to things that grow your soul, in the four "sayings" that I list, above; this is my only advice until the year 2011/12, when maybe School is over, for *this* Class, of the human race!
--for we all have now an "Indian Summer", to have a few years of Grace, to finish up our lives in!

So in the year to come, in the 5 to 6 years to come, the Lord willing, I will continue to post my dreams, and to collect and to post what I feel are "good" predictions and observations, about our present times and of our Future, here in Freestonefiles.

an experiement with yet another image hosting service, the *original*
openphoto, the "number 1" openphoto. I seem to like this one better than even the "number 2", as I have the option to have larger images, unless i can find such a setting in the openphoto 2.

hurricane is coming, the sunsets are awesome during the approach, when the very first high thin cloulds appear, at sunset, when the sun shines through them.
i have seen even RED skies at sunset.
there is One now, coming to New Orleans, a tropical storm, on july 5th.

I have lots of aunts in upstate new york, near Interlaken and ovid and Ithaca. they want more photos of ME! [they have none at all, for over 30 years!]

I like this one better than the other sets. i did not have to "over-react" so much, for the newbie camera picture taker, a georgia belle staff member, all they had ever used was a regular camera. 6' 2" none of my pants ever fit right! gotta have four sizes too too big or else pants bind when i sit down!

There is something about "looking through a huge window" compared to "peering through a peephole", that makes a photo seem near as real as life, as if one is using the computer monitor *as* a window! This sandstorm was awesome, no comparison, in its huge size. of couse some original photos might be seen sidewise, or even smaller, but i think that the high quality, hi res photos, were uploaded in the large size format!

I began this blog just as a repository for all the links that i found, as i could not save them in explorer in the public library computers at the University!

If anyone here has the same trouble, the solution is, to make very sure that in your postpage, all html lines [links] are as short, or shorter, then the width of the page. as these do NOT "wrap", the whole line of the link is posted and if the link is long, the page widens to accomodate it! thus then the page is so wide that the print cannot fit on the width of the computer screen, a XZTVX to read!

One has to be very very carefull here, as often that link that you html code write out *looks* to be short enough, but often it is not.

just be sure to check the post after you post it, then you will know for sure.

a large photo will do the very same thing!

this problem is even more apparent in the link sidebar, a long link will push the sidebar out to hold it. also those "boxes" for
links to sites that have you enter the code, often the "box" that is part of the code is larger than the sidebar.

I have had to place the long huge java-type boxes at the bottom of the weblog, thus in the template that you choose, be sure to
have a template that permits links to be placed UNDER the blog-posts. lots of room there.

1. Are the images really free?
Yes, all images are really free and they can be used in your commercial projects without permission or credit from the photogrpaher. Although selling prints, selling the images directly or claiming the photo is yours is prohibited.

Note: You are responsible for the content of the photos you use. It is very much the same as if you had taken the photograph yourself, you must still obtain proper permission for property or people depicted in the photos if any.

2. Why?

3. Can I contribute?
Morguefile.com is open to submission, first register and then read the guidelines for submitting photos by clicking the contribute photos link on your profile page. Enter an agreement.

4. Why is the name so creepy?
This site is designed from a term used by traditional artist and publishers as a place to keep reference material. It is a name that is not easily forgotten and "morgue" a french word originally is the same in most latin based languages.

5. Can I get a cd of all the images/ redisdribute the images?
Morguefile.com has permission from each contributor to redistribute their photos but not to sell them or repurpose that liscence. Special arrangements can be made for educational institutions for cost of the cd and shipping. Contact individual photographers about purchasing their specific collection of photographs.

You can join in and add your own photos by following a couple of simple steps.

Add three tags to your photo, "geo:lat=xx.xxxx", "geo:lon=xx.xxxx" and "geotagged", where xx.xxxx are the decimal format for it's lat and long position. Example "geo:lat=53.013", "geo:lon=-2.1756" & "geotagged"
Then;
Fastest, in the description add a link to www.geobloggers.com (i.e. (geotagged). From the photos own page (not the photo stream) click the link. geobloggers will automagically look up the photo you just came from and search the tags for the lat and long. Note: If the link doesn't seem to work wait a couple of minutes and try again. Sometimes it takes a short while for the lon/lat tags to appear in the XML data I get back from the flickr API.
Slower, just wait. geobloggers picks up the RSS stream for all public photos tagged as "geotagged". It does this once every 5 mins, but the RSS feed itself is updated far less often (as far as I can tell). As it only holds the last 10 pictures, it's possible it'll miss some this way, I'll wrangle around this in the future.

The top-level government memo marked "SECRET AND STRICTLY PERSONAL," dated eight months before Bush sent us into Iraq, following a closed meeting with the President, reads, "Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam through military action justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."

Read that again: "The intelligence and facts were being fixed...."

For years, after each damning report on BBC TV, "Isn't this grounds for impeachment?" Vote rigging, a blind eye to terror and the bin Ladens before 9-11, and so on. Evil, stupidity and self-dealing are shameful but not impeachable. What's needed is a "high crime or misdemeanor."

And if this ain't it, nothing is.

The memo, uncovered this week by the Times, goes on to describe an elaborate plan by George Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair to hoodwink the planet into supporting an attack on Iraq knowing full well the evidence for war was a phony.

A conspiracy to commit serial fraud is, under federal law, racketeering. However, the Mob's schemes never cost so many lives.

Here's more. "Bush had made up his mind to take military action. But the case was thin. Saddam was not threatening his neighbors, and his WMD capability was less than that of Libya, North Korea or Iran."

Really? But Mr. Bush told us, "Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised."

I always thought that the war was Bush's personal war, seemed obvious to me from the very very start!
I also have the impression that Bush and Saddam are doing some sort of Incarnational Drama! Maybe both were together, in some way, in a past lifetime. Using Washington/Baghdad as the stage, of course!
In other words, this political drama has its roots in spirit; set up before both were born. Then the "secondary players" set up their acts too, as "bit men" in Bush's drama, of course each bit man has a star act of his/her own!

lots of "innocent" soldiers and civilians die, but oh were they so "innocent"?! That is....They had set up to be a part of this play too!
and since everyone Needs to die, the death is chosen. People gotta die.
in fact I read, in a 1950s book, of how a Guide spoke this, through a medium...."Science is getting so good at healing, that people who are supposed to die, end up not keeping their appointments! Thus Spirit has to keep inventing new diseases so that people can keep their Appointments"! [as an "aid" to dying, as in AIDS...Auto immune syndrome??....As aids appeared near this time! Aids *was* then "caused", by a 'causer", not the CIA or some racial bigot scientist, but Spirit itself!!]

I am also intrigued about how "rabid" the intellectual left gets over all of this! Probably because they are "materialists", of a rather high level of materialism: intellectualism. There is no spirit world and no life after death, for these folks!

The cataract has a drop of 215 feet (66 meters), one of the highest east of the Rocky Mountains slightly higher even (25 ft., 8 m) than Niagara (American side), but they cannot be compared because it has much smaller volume. Taughannock is interesting year round - the falls and gorge create a natural amphitheater with dense spray rising from the bottom often shrouding the lower part of the cataract in mist. The name "Taughannock" originates either from that of the Delaware Indian chief Taughannock or as the Delaware word taghkanic ("great fall in the woods").

Hate Messages on Google Site Draw Concern

AN FRANCISCO, Feb. 6 - Over the last year, millions of Internet users have gravitated to Orkut, a Web site created and run by Google that permits people, by invitation only, to join any of a long list of online communities.

Communities have been created around a shared interest in photography, Miles Davis's music and travel to offbeat places. A small minority, however, advance a hatred for Jews, blacks or gays, including a "Death to the Jews" site and a site called "Death to Blacks."

By now no one should be surprised that people use the Internet to spread repugnant views about race, religion or sexuality. But what is different about Orkut, online specialists say, is that the hate-filled dialogues are taking place inside a members-only social network site that - at least in theory - strictly forbids this kind of conduct in its user's agreement.

The hatemongering is fast becoming an embarrassment for Google, the world's most popular search engine, particularly because the company has adopted "don't be evil" as its motto. The potential for tarnishing Google's gold-plated brand name also underscores the risks the company faces as it expands into new Internet businesses in which it has less experience.

"Given the prestige and familiarity of Google, I think this is an important development, if not quite radically new," said Cass R. Sunstein, a professor of law at the University of Chicago and author of the book "Republic.com," which concludes that the Internet inadvertently helps foster extreme viewpoints.

For Google, the trouble on Orkut - which is still in beta, or test, form - could easily escalate. A prosecutor in Brazil, where the service is especially popular, has already initiated an investigation into some of the more virulent Orkut sites.

For the moment, Google is not saying much about the issue. In response to a request for comment, a Google spokeswoman, Eileen Rodriguez, wrote in an e-mail message, "There are instances when orkut.com members misuse the service, but it is a very small number compared to everyone who uses it. There is a certain amount of trust we have to place in our users." Google would not pinpoint the number of people signed up for Orkut, but characterized it as "millions."

Orkut members are required to follow the company's "terms of service and community standards," Ms. Rodriguez wrote, which state that "an account cannot upload, transmit or contain material that is hateful or offensive based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender or sexual orientation."

When users "don't follow these terms and we are made aware of an issue, we take the necessary steps, which may include removing the content," she said. Google would not say if it had ever taken such action.

Internet law and custom generally exempt Internet service providers from responsibility for the behavior of their users. But when it comes to social networking sites like Orkut that invite users to seek out potential business contacts, dates or like-minded souls through links with friends and friends of friends, the responsibilities of the Internet host are more ambiguous.

"When these new tools are introduced to the social world, the social norms, like manners and etiquette, and basic questions of who's responsible for what, get all scrambled," said Lee Rainie, director of the Pew Internet and American Life Project. "What we're seeing is the havoc that the Internet wreaked on plenty of business is now playing out in the social world."

Despite the company's stated policies, Orkut users - who are allowed to participate only if invited by a current member - can join the 2,300 people who already belong to an "I Hate Queens, Faggots and Gays" group, created in August by a Brazilian Orkut member. When setting up the community, the group's founder described it as a forum for Portuguese-speaking people to "show your indignation and make jokes" about a "type of person" who "is gaining in society." Because access to the Orkut site requires membership, general Internet users cannot stumble accidentally onto these groups.

Orkut members can also sign up to join a myriad of communities dedicated to despising people of color, including one in English that advocates the founder's position of death to all black people.

The founder of that group, Kiarash Poursaleh, who described himself in his profile as an 18-year-old living in Tehran, also listed "Mein Kampf" by Hitler as a favorite book, named "shooting" as his favorite sport and described his humor as "friendly." All members create a personal profile and can add their own communities to the Orkut site.

Mr. Poursaleh has joined dozens of other English-language Orkut communities, including the "Adolf Hitler SS Army Fan Club" and an "anti-Jewry" community, as well as a group for fans of the television show "Friends."

Mr. Poursaleh, who did not respond to an e-mail request for an interview, is also a member of "Anti-Arab Iranians," a community with the motto, "We Hate Arabs!!! Kill Them All!"

Other social networking sites have confronted similar issues of hatemongering, but the problem is more pronounced at Orkut because the service encourages people to create and participate in online communities of like-minded individuals. Community groups help to distinguish Orkut from its competitors, like Friendster, the first widely popular social networking site.

Tribe Networks is another social networking site that encourages users to create communities of shared interest. "Mainly we're reactive, rather than proactive, when it comes to these hate sites," said Mark J. Pincus, the chief executive of Tribe, based in San Francisco. "But we have a full-time staffer who looks for these kinds of things and deals with complaints when they come up."

Plugging the word "hate" into the site's search engine delivered a listing of more than 200 "tribes," but they tended to be more humorous and offbeat. Users have created groups for those who hate "the n-word," online dating, dogs, ranch dressing or any of a random list of B-list celebrities (Ryan Seacrest, Brittany Murphy, Carrot Top).

Though Orkut began life a year ago as a venue for Silicon Valley's digerati, now nearly two-thirds of registered users are from Brazil. Google said one explanation for this seemingly inexplicable phenomenon was that Brazilians are quick to adopt new technologies.

In late January, Christiano Jorge Santos, a state prosecutor in São Paulo, began a criminal investigation of some of the hate communities hosted by Orkut. The impetus was the cyberassault of a 13-year-old black child who lives in São Paulo. Those behind a Portuguese language community called "Antiheroes" posted a copy of the child's picture at the site, without his knowledge, and then invited visitors to "unload all your fury on this poor, innocent little black kid. Click on him and get revenge."

Such an action is clearly criminal under Brazilian law, Mr. Santos said. "That's racism, and in Brazil racism is a crime," he said.

Under Brazilian law, it is a crime to practice, induce or incite discrimination or prejudice on the grounds of race, color, ethnicity, religion or national origin. If convicted, offenders could serve two to five years in prison, in addition to paying a sizable fine.

"The U.S. is pretty unusual providing the broad protection we do to hate speech," said Professor Sunstein. In "South America, Europe - Google could have problems with many other jurisdictions."

Mr. Santos, the author of a book on hate crimes in Brazil, is targeting "all the communities that use racist and discriminatory terms on the site www.orkut.com," according to documents he filed in court. Because Brazilian law does not include discrimination based on sexuality in its criminal code, those behind sites like "I Hate Transvestites" would not face criminal charges.

Among the Orkut groups that Mr. Santos has focused on is a "Death to Blacks" site, written in Portuguese. That group's founder, Alex Pazzo, also created the "Death to the Jews" group, also written in Portuguese. (Mr. Pazzo did not respond to an e-mail message, sent through the Orkut system, seeking comment.)

It is also unlikely that Google could be held criminally responsible in a Brazilian court, Mr. Santos said, since he would have to prove that the company was intentionally complicit in disseminating racist materials. Nevertheless, Google could be sued for damages in a Brazilian civil court, he said, because of a lack of precautionary measures against racist crimes.

Other Portuguese-language Orkut groups include "I Hate Argentines," "I Hate Transvestites" and "I Hate the Universal Church," which refers to the evangelical church popular among Brazil's poor. The majority of the Orkut hate sites seem to be written in Portuguese, but many are written in English as well.

For instance, an English-language "Anti-Jews" site, created in November, lists Schenectady, N.Y., as its home base. The community logo is a caricature of a man with a Star of David tattooed on his forehead. The site was created by Timothy Schultz, an Orkut member who says in his profile that he was born in Germany but now lives in the United States. He describes his mother as "Persian," but assures those reading his Orkut profile that both parents are "Aryan."

The group's mission statement declares that it matters not whether members are Christian, Muslim or Buddhist, "the fact is we are all angry about what they have done and what they are doing to human beings all around the world." While the group has only 98 members, they come from a variety of places around the globe, like Iran, Korea and Marblehead, Mass.

In one of the oddities of an online universe in which software, not a human brain, is behind a service, Orkut lists a "Jesus Christ" site ("for people who love Jesus") as a "related community" to "Anti-Jews."

At the Anti-Jews site, when a woman going by the screen name Wasay 666 said that she was against the murder of Jews, several posters scoffed at her view.

• Introduction

Many sources, psychic and otherwise, have long predicted catastrophic physical changes for America. How many of these predicted changes are the same, or similar? And how many of these predicted changes are likely to happen? These are the questions we set out to answer.

In preparing our composite map, we examined eight different sources of information: "We are the Earthquake Generation" by Jeffrey Goodman, "The Survivor," published by Donovan Quarmby, "The Half Times" by Don Daughtry, "Surviving Catastrophic Changes" by G. Cope Schellhorn, "Daybreak, the Dawning Ember" by Mary Summer Rain, "Black Dawn, Bright Day" by Sun Bear and Wabun Wind, the "I Am America Map" by Lori Adaile Toye, and Gordon-Michael Scallion's "Future Map of the United States: 1998-2001." In the end, the only sources that we felt were complete and/or credible enough to report on, were the maps produced by Goodman, Scallion, and Toye. Our composite map is, therefore, based on maps produced by these three sources. Although our composite map is not an exact reproduction of these three sources, we have reproduced their maps accurately enough to show how and where their predictions complement and differ from one another.

I just received information: Anyone near a coastline needs to move to higher ground. There is going to be major quakes (off the charts), volcanic activity and flooding worldwide. There will be tornadoes and hurricanes where they never were before. There will be land displacement. This is already starting and will intensify to fullness in May, June, July this year and continue on afterwards. The earth will be flipped over, out of it's current placement by 2011. The sun will then rise in the West.. The major changes have already started and at this time it will not be diverted. We have attempted to divert but at this time have failed. Be prepared.

Why the North Becomes South
Years ago I started my quest, intending to discover why pole shifts take place. I found answers that put my imaginative powers heavily to the test. But through my persistent search, I found evidences for it, telling of a highly advanced civilization that was exposed to three catastrophes. Each time, the movement of the earth?s axis was severely disrupted and the whole earth was subjected to a gigantic cataclysm.

From this we can state the following: The graph of human evolution does not appear as a straight line. Towards the end it draws steeply upwards, but after every disaster it slips tremendously quickly downwards. Priests and scientists knew this, and intertwined their knowledge with religion in order to make everybody fully aware of it. But with the passage of time, the knowledge was lost. Fourteen thousand years ago the priests knew how to decipher the secrets of polar reversals.

At present nothing is left of it, and there isn?t a single scientist now in possession of this knowledge; a catastrophic downfall in the pre-primeval age. Hopefully as many people as possible will hear my echo before it is too late. Or will they neglect the messages from our distant past?

Review of The Orion Prophecy

Part 1 : The upside

After months of waiting, The Orion Prophecy by Patrick Geryl and Gino Ratinckx was finally published in December 2001, by Adventures Unlimited. Patrick had kindly sent me the manuscript to read, about 3 months before publication, and we corresponded regarding certain aspects of the book. I decided to wait until the final version was published before reviewing the book, and I'm glad I did, because in the final version, the translation from Belgian to English had been tidied up. Also the inclusion of pictures made the text much easier to understand.

Conclusion

I had high hopes that this book might shed some new light on the 2012 Mayan end-point, but when the most fascinating part turned out to be a mistake, (the retrograde loops of Venus "code"), and the next most interesting item - the discovery (by overlaying sky maps onto a map of Egypt) that the "astronomical Labyrinth" (the Hyades) corresponds to the already known position of the Labyrinth building - also turned out to be wrong; that only left a French translation of the Egyptian Book of the Dead (or Chapter 17 of it, anyway), that has been partly translated into English (by a Belgian), and may contain codes about a catastrophe.

On the plus side, the book gives us access to part of a rare translation of Chapter 17 of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, encoding 3 catastrophes, (for which, as I said above, David Pratt has found corroboration in the Dendera zodiac). On the negative side, there is alot of misinformation in the book, but at least it does not add much to any anxiety we might have about the World ending soon.

When we're ready for another brilliant game, Geryl promises us (p.171), that when we read his "unbelievably accurate" decoding of the Dresden codex, in his next book, that we "will be almost shocked to death". I look forward to it.

Sobering!! If he is right, 99%...PLUS of humanity will be dead, by the time that this event is over with!

My take on this, sports fans?!
...That there is some "event" of some sort, concerned with the Mayan/aztec/toltec 2012 date! But not necessarily with the exact 2012 date!
[I recall a very out of print book that I read around the 70s when the "carlos casstenada" books were out; I read, in this book, about how a older student, visiting Mexico, was introduced, and INITIATED into the mayan mysteries, by a
Shaman and his friends. They are the currant "keepers" of the Tradition of the Mayans/Aztec/toltecs. They too, I read, have a Time of the change and the Chief Shaman told this student that..."The records are true, but that the white man has the date to be slightly WRONG! The Change event is earlier than that 2012 date"!
I wish that I could remember what that date is, that the shaman told of!!
this date was a few years before 2011/12 and even as early as 2005!! I cannot even recall the title of this book, 30 years later!]

However.....

while I agree in a sort of "principle' with Geryl, I find fault with his math *and*
of the Tone of the book. The "Tone" that I read, is...."The righteous Payback for all of the western man's mis-use of the land, the ecology, the world"!
in a word..."puritanism"! "ye have Sinned and now it is time to pay the piper"!

NO!
I do not believe that. I do not feel that we all are to be "punished", if such a earth change is to take place!

there is yet another critique that I can add, to most of these books that study ancient civilizations, finding patterns that infer the end times are coming:
They study the ancient ways in a MATERIALIST approach! They do not sense that there is a Spirit reality, in addition to the physical reality! Even if they do think that the spirit world exists, they may think that the spirit planes have nothing to do with the physical plane, that is...That the spirit plane cannot "interact" with the physical earth, and change, affect, and alter it!
Anyone who studies the native American traditions of the "gods not being pleased with the ways of the villagers not keeping the Ancient ways, thus bringing a sickness, or Tidal wave [tsunami], will sense how the Gods interact with the earth and mankind! One can only go back to Greece and "Mt Olympus" to sense this Gods/man interaction! All old cultures Know this: that the Spirits [gods] and man are interrelating, and that the Spirits can affect the outcome of a "earthchange"!
*most* of these researchers seem to ignore this Tradition! Be like of a
material engineer studying magnets, as a "physical object only"; but not magnetism!
our "superstitions" about how our Lord and Jesus could be displeased with our sins, ala "sodom and Gomorra", and Do Something Terrible to us, in Karmic retribution, come from this tradition!
thus *if* this tradition has any validity, for anyone who believes this "interaction of the spirits[gods], and mankind", they should begin to look at the Recent tsunami in SE Asia, in this light": *could* there be a Spirit counterpart at work, in the Causes of this catastrophe?!

But I feel that any "earth changes", in "2012", or whenever, have more to do with the
"end of the School Year" for mankind: GRADUATION....Then of any "judgment" for sins committed! Our "mis-used" earth, is just a tired classroom, near the end of the School Year, when all of the supplies are nearly used up, and the floor is dirty and the paint is flaking on the walls. While a "reconstruction" may be needed between one school year and another [the new race to come, the next Cycle of the 25,000 Zodiac], this is NOT "punishment", it is merely a Rest for the planet earth!
we all will have then "Ascended" into the next level of Racial school: on to Collage in the Spirit worlds!

How About Not 'Curing' Us, Some Autistics Are Pleading

OICEVILLE, N.Y. - Jack Thomas, a 10th grader at a school for autistic teenagers and an expert on the nation's roadways, tore himself away from his satellite map one recent recess period to critique a television program about the search for a cure for autism.

"We don't have a disease," said Jack, echoing the opinion of the other 15 boys at the experimental Aspie school here in the Catskills. "So we can't be 'cured.' This is just the way we are."

From behind his GameBoy, Justin Mulvaney, another 10th grader, objected to the program's description of people "suffering" from Asperger's syndrome, the form of autism he has.

"People don't suffer from Asperger's," Justin said. "They suffer because they're depressed from being left out and beat up all the time."

That, at least, was what happened to these students at mainstream schools before they found refuge here.

But unlike many programs for autistics, this school's program does not try to expunge the odd social behaviors that often make life so difficult for them. Its unconventional aim is to teach students that it is O.K. to "act autistic" and also how to get by in a world where it is not.

Trained in self-advocacy, students proudly recite the positive traits autism can confer, like the ability to develop uncanny expertise in an area of interest. This year's class includes specialists on supervolcanoes and medieval weaponry.

"Look at Jack," Justin pointed out. "He doesn't even need a map. He's like a living map."

The new program, whose name stands for Autistic Strength, Purpose and Independence in Education - and whose acronym is a short form of Asperger's - is rooted in a view of autism as an alternative form of brain wiring, with its own benefits and drawbacks, rather than a devastating disorder in need of curing.

It is a view supported by an increasingly vocal group of adult autistics, including some who cannot use speech to communicate and have been institutionalized because of their condition. But it is causing consternation among many parents whose greatest hope is to avoid that very future for their children. Many believe that intensive behavioral therapy offers the only rescue from the task of caring for unpredictable, sometimes aggressive children, whose condition can take a toll on the entire family.

The autistic activists say they want help, too, but would be far better off learning to use their autistic strengths to cope with their autistic impairments rather than pretending that either can be removed. Some autistic tics, like repetitive rocking and violent outbursts, they say, could be modulated more easily if an effort were made to understand their underlying message, rather than trying to train them away. Other traits, like difficulty with eye contact, with grasping humor or with breaking from routines, might not require such huge corrective efforts on their part if people were simply more tolerant.

Spurred by an elevated national focus on finding a cure for autism at a time when more Americans are receiving autism diagnoses than ever before - about one in 200 - a growing number of autistics are staging what they say amounts to an ad hoc human rights movement. They sell Autistic Liberation Front buttons and circulate petitions on Web sites like neurodiversity.com to "defend the dignity of autistic citizens." The Autistic Advocacy e-mail list, one of dozens that connect like-minded autistics, has attracted nearly 400 members since it started last year.

"We need acceptance about who we are and the way we are," said Joe Mele, 36, who staged a protest at Jones Beach, on Long Island, while 10,000 people marched to raise money for autism research recently. "That means you have to get out of the cure mind-set."

A neurological condition that can render standard forms of communication like tone of voice, facial expression and even spoken language unnatural and difficult to master, autism has traditionally been seen as a shell from which a normal child might one day emerge. But some advocates contend that autism is an integral part of their identities, much more like a skin than a shell, and not one they care to shed.

The effort to cure autism, they say, is not like curing cancer, but like the efforts of a previous age to cure left-handedness. Some worry that in addition to troublesome interventions, the ultimate cure will be a genetic test to prevent autistic children from being born.

That would be a loss, they say, not just for social tolerance but because autistics, with their obsessive attention to detail and eccentric perspective, can provide valuable insight and innovation. The neurologist Oliver Sacks, for instance, contends that Henry Cavendish, the 18th-century chemist who discovered hydrogen, was most likely autistic.

"What they're saying is their goal is to create a world that has no people like us in it," said Jim Sinclair, who did not speak until he was 12 and whose 1993 essay "Don't Mourn for Us" serves as a touchstone for a fledgling movement.

At this year's "Autreat," an annual spring gathering of autistics, attendees compared themselves to gay rights activists, or the deaf who prefer sign language over surgery that might allow them to hear. Some discussed plans to be more openly autistic in public, rather than take the usual elaborate measures to fit in. Others vowed to create more autistic-friendly events and spaces.

Autreat participants, for instance, can wear color-coded badges that indicate whether they are willing to be approached for conversation. Common autistic mannerisms, like exceedingly literal conversation and hand-flapping, are to be expected. Common sources of autistic irritation, like casual hugs and fluorescent lighting, are not.

For many parents, however, the autistic self-advocacy movement often sounds like a threat to the brighter future they envision for their children. In recent months, the long-simmering argument has erupted into an online brawl over the most humane way to handle an often crippling condition.

On e-mail lists frequented by autistics, some parents are derided as "curebies" and portrayed as slaves to conformity, so anxious for their children to appear normal that they cannot respect their way of communicating. Parents argue that their antagonists are showing a typical autistic lack of empathy by suggesting that they should not try to help their children. It is only those whose diagnosis describes them as "high functioning" or having Asperger's syndrome, they say, who are opposed to a cure.

"If those who raise their opposition to the so-called oppression of the autistic would simply substitute their usage of 'autism or autistic' with 'Asperger's,' their arguments might make some sense," Lenny Schafer, publisher of the widely circulated Schafer Autism Report, wrote in a recent e-mail message. "But I intend to cure, fix, repair, change over etc. my son and others like him of his profound and typical disabling autism into something better. Let us regain our common sense."

But the autistic activists say it is not so easy to distinguish between high and low functioning, and their ranks include both.

In an effort to refute parental skeptics, the three owners of autistics.org, a major Web hub of autistic advocacy, issued a statement listing their various impairments. None of them are fully toilet-trained, one of them cannot speak, and they have all injured themselves on multiple occasions, they wrote: "We flap, finger-flick, rock, twist, rub, clap, bounce, squeal, hum, scream, hiss and tic."

The touchiest area of dispute is over Applied Behavior Analysis, or A.B.A., the therapy that many parents say is the only way their children were able to learn to make eye contact, talk and get through the day without throwing tantrums. Some autistic adults, including some who have had the therapy, say that at its best it trains children to repress their natural form of expression and at its worst borders on being abusive. If an autistic child who screams every time he is taken to the supermarket is trained not to, for example, he may still be experiencing pain from the fluorescent lights and crush of strangers.

"Behaviors are so often attempts to communicate," said Jane Meyerding, an autistic woman who has a clerical job at the University of Washington and is a frequent contributor to the Autistic Advocacy e-mail discussion list. "When you snuff out the behaviors you snuff out the attempts to communicate."

Perhaps the most public conflict between parents and adult autistics came in a lawsuit brought by several Canadian families who argued that the government should pay for their children's A.B.A. therapy because it is medically necessary. Michelle Dawson, an autistic woman in Montreal, submitted testimony questioning the ethics of the therapy, which the Canadian Supreme Court cited in its ruling against the families in November.

Ms. Dawson's position infuriates many parents who are fighting their own battles to get governments and insurance companies to pay for the expensive therapy.

"I'm afraid of this movement," said Kit Weintraub, the mother of two autistic children in Madison, Wis.

Ms. Weintraub's son, Nicholas, has benefited greatly from A.B.A., she said, and she is unapologetic about wanting to remove his remaining quirks, like his stilted manner of speaking and his wanting to be Mickey Mouse for Halloween when other 8-year-olds want to be Frodo from "The Lord of the Rings."

"I worry about when he gets into high school, somebody doesn't want to date him or be his friend," she said. "It's no fun being different."

The dispute extends even to the basic terminology of autism.

"I would appreciate it, if I end up in your article, if you describe me as 'an autistic' or 'an autistic person,' versus the 'person with...,' " Ms. Dawson wrote in an e-mail message. "Just like you would feel odd if people said you were a 'person with femaleness.' "

Ms. Weintraub insists on the opposite. "My children have autism, they are not 'autistics,' " she wrote in her own widely circulated essay, "A Mother's Perspective." "It is no more normal to be autistic than it is to have spina bifida."

Terry Walker, 37, who has Asperger's syndrome, said he was not opposed to the concept of a cure for autism but he suggested that there was a pragmatic reason to look for other options.

"I don't think it's going to be easy to find," Mr. Walker said. "That's why I opt for changing the world around me; I think that does more long-term good."

I read of this phrase a lot, of late, as people discover just how interrelated everything is.
Recently the state of Florida faced a Petition movement to increase the minimum
work wage by a dollar of so. The Change, or not, was put on the ballot, for the election, and it passed; it will go into effect on Jan ist.
Already there are several Tallahassee businesses, mostly locally homeowned, who will close up shop, and go out of business! Some of them have 20 or more min wage employees.
surely, in the weeks ahead, I will tell some person, who is fuming about his favorite store closing...."Well, you Voted for it! You wanted them out of business
and to further complicate things, only the Interstate/international Chains of stores will Absorb the loss, and even advertise that they will not raise the prices by 15%, as all other business have raised their prices by that amount, on January 1st: you, lady, have just voted FOR Walmart, go their now and buy everything that you own or eat, there, in the future, as the "wonderful" mom and pop, small homeowned businesses will be the very first to go under, with this new law!"

UK: To Be a 'Clone Town,' or Not: That Is the Question

STRATFORD-UPON-AVON, England - To survive the approach to the home where William Shakespeare was born, a striking timber-frame house in the center of this bustling town, it would be wise to bid adieu to all bucolic notions of quaint old England and ready oneself for the onslaught of globalization.

A visitor must march past Country Casuals, Boots pharmacy, Next, and Marks & Spencer, and pass Accessorize, HMV, Whittard and of course, the dueling coffee shops, Starbucks and Costa Coffee. If it were not for Shakespeare's dwelling and a few notable old houses, this town - with row upon row of British chain stores - would scarcely be different from any other in Britain these days. Most butcher shops and hardware stores have closed. So have the family clothing shops, the fishmongers and a long list of other independent businesses.

"If someone blindfolded you, put you in a helicopter and set you down in a town somewhere in England, you wouldn't be able to tell where you are anymore," said Jim Hyslop, 55, who lives just outside Stratford. The chain stores, he said, "change the character of a place."

In the past five years, chain stores owned by corporations and out-of-town megastores similar to Wal-Mart (one of them, Asda, is, in fact, owned by Wal-Mart), have come to dominate many British towns and cities, creating a palpable sense of homogeneity from Kent all the way to Cumbria, and drawing striking parallels to America.

Many of the main shopping thoroughfares, so-called "high streets," now traffic in sameness: ubiquitous cellphone shops (Orange, Vodafone, O2); the familiar coffee chains (Starbucks, Caffe Nero and Costa Coffee); the typical clothing stores (Gap, Next, Warehouse); and the cookie-cutter restaurants (Café Rouge, ASK, Pizza Express). Neighborhood greengrocers are also on the way out, replaced by chain minisupermarkets, most notably Tesco, a company that has become one of the world's top retailers.

"In the case of Britain, and especially England, there is a huge sense of identity investment in the image of towns and cities, and the notion that this sort of bland, gradual effacement of character is taking place has taxed people at a deep level," said Andrew Simms, policy director for the New Economic Foundation, an independent economic research organization that published a report in August called "Clone Town Britain."

"It makes life boring," Mr. Simms added. "It makes our communities boring places to be. That is one thing that has touched people deeply. People don't want to live in towns that look all the same. It's dull."

In its report, the foundation visited a series of towns and cities and counted both chain shops and independent businesses. It also contends that the spread of chains and sprawling Tesco-style stores winds up hurting local economies, because less money is pumped back into the area, and people are deprived of choice. A previous report in 2002 found that specialty stores like butchers and bakers were closing at a rate of 50 a week, along with 20 traditional pubs a month.

The reasons independent businesses are vanishing here are familiar to Americans: high rents; customer demand for cheaper goods; and corporate muscle. It is just that in the past few years their disappearance has become increasingly visible and particularly striking in a part of the world that once took such pride in its community shops.

"It's happening because of the consumer," said Nick Gladding, senior analyst at Verdict Research, a group that specializes in retail. "They are becoming more demanding.

"And people increasingly like familiarity," he added, noting that there are generational differences in shopping trends. "People like to know what to expect when they go into a shop or restaurant."

Lacey's, an ironmonger, or hardware store, in Stratford-upon-Avon, has been in town for generations. It is run by David Haywaid, 53, as it was by his father and grandfather before him. Mr. Haywaid said the town had changed markedly in recent years as independents had been driven to close because of high rents. "The only shops that can make money are the clothing shops, with their horrendous markups," he said.

His own shop is so old-fashioned that it is now a draw in itself, luring nostalgic out-of-towners who pine for "something different," said Mr. Haywaid, who owns the building his store occupies. Around the corner, at Barry the Butcher, Stewart Ashfield, the deputy manager, agrees. Not too long ago, there were 12 butcher shops in town; now there are 2. "Stratford has changed out of all recognition," he said. "We've been damaged by these chains, and the out-of-town shopping stores where people shop for everything under one roof as in America. What's been lost is the personal touch."

"Clone towns," though, as the report calls them, are beginning to encounter resistance as people question whether Britain should emulate America or follow Continental Europe, which is trying hard to preserve its uniqueness. In France and Poland, for example, local authorities can veto the construction of large supermarkets.

Local governments here are starting to push for economic incentives to guarantee a greater variety of shops. One town, Ludlow, has joined an Italian movement called Citta-slow, which embraces the "slow town" concept and promotes the benefits of eating locally grown produce.

A few powerful landlords have also taken stands against chain stores. The Mercers' Company, one of London's biggest landlords, is trying to attract independent shops by offering them discounts on the streets around Covent Garden, a popular tourist spot. Howard de Walden Estates, the hereditary landlord of much of Marylebone Village in London, has rejected a number of chains on its high street in order to preserve a unique, and quite popular, mix of shops. The company's chief executive has been critical of local governments, saying they are taking a short-term view of planning by always going with the highest bidder.

The question is: Is it too late to stem the tide?

"They talk about a tipping point, where you suddenly see independent retailers wiped out in certain areas," said David Bishop, a spokesman for the Federation of Small Businesses. "Unless you take some constructive action now it will resemble the U.S. We're a long way from that, but it is a real danger."

I suppose if he has 5 min wage employees, he might then just give up and go to Home Depot and get a job there, and thus also stop having to do the TONS of paperwork and tax forms that a small business requires of him to do!

Our Names Are Autism, Too

In her essay "My Name is Autism," Marty Murphy, a 41 year-old (by self-description) "high functioning" autistic woman describes what autism means to her. In a "Dear Sir/Madam" letter, which frequently was circulated in conjunction with the "My Name is Autism" essay, Ms. Murphy, posing as a 25 year-old male, claimed to be speaking for all autistics (using such phrases as "those of us with autism would like an answer" and "we are all waiting for our answer").

We, the undersigned, neither agree with Ms. Murphy's conception of autism nor appreciate Ms. Murphy's claim to be speaking for "those of us."

We do not believe that we are akin to "calves born in Texas with defects," that we are "victims" of autism, and that our families were "taken hostage" by autism.

We do not believe that autism "taketh away and gives nothing but bewilderment and loathing in return;" that autism "takes away common sense" and "all but physical life;" that autism "looks for new children to consume and new lives to destroy."

We do not believe that being autistic "is almost worse than death."

We find these statements to be dangerous, sensationalist and false. We believe these statements demean and devalue the lives of all autistics. These statements resonate with similar historical efforts to incite fear and hatred against identifiable groups of people, with the goal of restricting then eliminating the existence of these people.

Finally, we do not "dread the day" that autism "will be looked upon with understanding," and we do not believe that will be the day that autism will "die." Rather, we wholeheartedly welcome the day that we, as proud autistics, are understood and fully accepted for who we are.

Spain had a disastrous terrorist attack, March 11, 2004. The government blamed it on Basque separatists, but it became quickly apparent that was not the case. AlQaeda was behind it. The government and the press continued to promote the lie.
As the people began to find out the truth, they took to the streets to demand answers. But the demonstrations were not reported, and the lies and distortions continued. The people turned to the alternative press to find out what was happening. Three days later there was an election and the people voted out the government.

Now look at us. We had the 9-11 Trade Center attack in NYC. Bush's administration did everything they could to stonewall an investigation. Over three years later, the people still do not know the facts. Redacted reports, distortions, and outright lies seem to be all we get from our government.

This site exists to discuss spam and its effect on us. Spam, junk e-mail, has become a household term that is globally known as a problem. The creator of this site, Eric Smith, gets hundred of spam messages a day - for a period of time he was getting over 500 spam messages a day - until he did something about it. He is now down to around 100 a day. That doesn't mean he actually sees them, there are multiple levels of defense that he setup to beat spam and that is partly what this site is for. Eric will discuss in detail the various options available to stop the flow of spam into your inbox, or at worst - drastically reduce it.

This site will discuss why spam exists in the first place, the psychology behind computer users that make them fall for the scams (or legit products that are mass marketed as the case may be). What makes the spammers do it and how they get away with it. This site will discuss different strategies to block spam and how well those techniques work, as well as the technology behind them.

This site will also chronicle which spam messages are currently getting through Eric's (or other contributing authors) anti-spam configuration, and then discuss what can be done to block that type of spam in the future.

To break from the entirely serious nature of the frustrating issue of massive amounts of junk mail, and the dry nature of the tech talk, this site will also occasionally chronicle responses to the spam and any ensuing e-mail exchanges/conversations that ensue. i read this book, here are my feelings.....

well I went and read that book, that book that i refered to, in my last entry, the book of channeled material from Trance, where four Guides spoke through a medium, in England, around 1992.
[this morning's weblog entry: the last post before this one]

while I liked the material channeled, i was brought up rudely short by something that i see in ALL spirit teachings!! all of the Teachings that i read seem to be *very* colored by the culture that the mediums and class of students are in!

So here are four guides....

one guide is a ex-Roman soldier who guarded the Coliseum when the christians were so killed there. then he became a christian himself and was put to death in the coliseum! About four places, in the chapters, he INSISTS utterly utterly that "why in one week alone there were, in Rome, more people killed in the coliseums, there, then, then in *ALL* of WW I, WWII, and the Holocast combined!
100,000,000 million in one week: do your math, 1.4 million an hour!
he insists with GREAT FEELING that this figure is right. over and over.

then there is another Guide who whenever he speaks about "meat-eating" i can SEE
right in the print his fixed feelings about eating "dead rotten matter"!
"fixed" as in..."never bend a millimeter: break first"! Someone asked him about whether Jesus ate meat; he replied that all of this was "symbolic-only".

[contrast what another Teacher-guide wrote, in another channeling, where he wrote/spoke...."most vegetarians would NOT like to know what Jesus ate! He ate what everyone else around him ate, which included fish, goat, lamb, etc.etc..."]

you do not wanna read what these four guides say about "abortion" or "vivisection"!

English mediums from the spiritualist path.
steeped in their culture. and even a roman soldier, after 2000 years, has not changed his thinkings, exactly what i have read: people do not really change much after they die, the place to really change, is on earth, thus this is why Reincarnation exists, they stand in line just for this!!

even Sathya Sai baba, is a sponge steeped in the India culture.
"no one who eats meet is a disciple of Mine" [oops, guess i will go with Jesus!]
"one should eat...[India food"...a long list of India food]
" the most important thing to do on earth is to marry and have a family and true love takes years to develop, so "who" is not important" [arranged marriages]

[ all zen people disciples eat macrobiotic food, the daily food of the 1400 AD japanese
temple people ]

I have read about 50 biographies of jesus, written by guides and each is different and often radically so!

so.
I find that one must be really *really* discerning, when reading channeled material.
their is Bias at every level, for as long as their is a independant soul giving the channeled messege, that messege is spoken in the tone and of the "surround" of the
culture that the Guide once lived in. then you add the medium's own coloring. then you add the class of students too: their own culture!

funny....many of the Liberals who are very Critical of any channelings or spirit-given writings, where they tear into what is said ala the "Scepical inquirer" type of magizine and attitude: why they accept any and all words, of their favorite
Liberal left political candidate, with utter acceptance, a sponge soaking up water.
the Right too. the new agers too. when a political candidate comes along that seems to speak the Ways of a group of people's percieved needs, why they soak it up without a bit of critical thinkings!!!

thus only 50 to 70 percent is true, in any one spirit messege, probably. like in life from any political candidate, or from any newspaper article about anything.

In the year 1958 the Terezinha and Luiz Barbosa de Souza couple finished paying for a 1.440m2 piece of land in the Santa Amélia quarter, near downtown Queimados, where they lived.

Seventeen years later, in 1975, when they were already living in Flamengo, a quarter in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro City, Terezinha and Lulinha went back to Queimados in order to get rid of that piece of land, which was of no use to them any more. A very dark day, thus the soft focus. Lots of activity on the lake: clouds rising like steam because the air is so warm and our lake so cold; a few geese migrating. At Myers Point, about two miles distant extending its "C" shaped claw into the lake, the Lansing fire department can be seen testing its fire hoses....that's the diagonal water spout just below the geese. The white dome of the art library at Cornell is visible at left center on the hill slope, about 10 miles distant.

If you could zoom in to Cornell, you'd see some of its fine 19th century towers: this shot (just below) taken from the new nano-technology building's third floor.
